BIRDS AND MAMMALS OF THE HIMALAYAN FOOTHILLS

Code: BHF01TC

Description

On this tour, we will take you to some of the best birding hotspots of the North in a quest for target species. We will begin our journey at the sleepy little hamlet of Pangot. Isolated from the maddening chaos of bustling cities, Pangot is a fresh air of tranquility. The hamlet hosts a large number of Himalayan bird species and is regarded as one of the best birding hotspots of the country. We will also explore the alluring nature trails of Pangot and visit the local villages to experience the authentic Kumaoni culture.

Named after the cluster of seven freshwater lakes that surround the hamlet, Sattal is a treasure trove of Himalayan birds. Many rare species like Chestnut-headed Tesia, Greater and Lesser Yellownape, Blue-throated Barbet, and Rufous-chinned Laughingthrush can be found here.

Lastly, we will visit the Corbett National Park. Besides the Royal Bengal Tigers, Corbett National Park also hosts more than 600 species of birds and is one of the best birding hotspots of India. The Kosi river that meanders through the park is a perfect spot for bird watching. Our guides would ensure that you get to spot your target species here.
