On this special tour, we will explore the lands of Ladakh, Uttarakhand, and Gujarat to sight all the rare big cats of India i.e. the fabled Royal Bengal Tiger, the majestic Asiatic Lion, and the elusive Snow Leopard.

Our tour begins at Leh where we will visit the beautiful Hemis National Park and look for the enigmatic Snow Leopard. The Snow Leopard is a very shy animal that lives at extremely high altitudes, so you will require a great deal of fitness to be able to track it.

Next, we will visit the Corbett National Park where we will take wildlife safaris to the park to look for the fabled Royal Bengal Tigers. Corbett is believed to have the highest population of Tigers and therefore provides excellent sighting opportunities. Besides, the picturesque landscapes of Corbett teeming with wildlife in the backdrop of Nainital hills are a sight to behold.

Finally, we will visit the Gir National Park to marvel at the king of the jungle in his natural territory. We will take wildlife safaris to the park and look the Asiatic Lions and also meet with the Maldharis, the “Lion People” of Gujarat.

My association with Asian Adventures goes back to the year 2002 when I along with my better half visited Jungle Lore Birding Lodge at Pangot. We were simply overwhelmed by our experience and we never felt that we were away from home. From then onwards it has turned into a lifelong association with Asian Adventures and not a year has passed when we have not visited their various lodges at Van Serai, Jageshwar, Abbot Mount Cottage and Monsoon Forest, Bandhavgarh. Here I must admit that their lodge Van Serai at Jageshwar has almost become my home in Uttarakhand as I visit and stay there almost 3-4 times every year, in fact, I and my wife were honoured to be its first guests in 2013.
