Arrive at Renz in the evening after a scenic journey through the Himalayan foothills. Settle into your cozy mountain cottage, where you’ll be sharing a room with a fellow attendee - this is a twin-sharing retreat designed to foster connection and conversation. Ease into the weekend with an intimate welcome session, sharing stories and snacks as guests get to know each other.
As night falls, a delicious barbecue dinner and a bonfire jam session under the stars will set the tone for the retreat, bringing together warmth, music, and the mountain breeze.

Wake up to a beautiful Renz sunrise and begin the day with a guided birdwatching and sound-scaping session – where you’ll learn about birds of the region, and explore how natural sounds can shape and inspire musical expression.
The morning continues with light conversation around music theory, paired with a hearty mountain breakfast.
After breakfast, we’ll dive deeper into various musical concepts, with immersive sessions on guitar, vocals, production, genre histories, and the roots of standardized musical ideas.
As the afternoon rolls in, we’ll gather for a wholesome lunch and open conversation around wildlife and music. After some afternoon relaxation, we’ll head out for an early evening trek with another soundscaping session - talking about composition, and putting into practice what we explored in the morning, guided by the changing light and sounds of the hills.
The evening continues with a special presentation by local Kumaoni musicians, who will share the rich stories, sounds, and traditions behind their music and instruments.
This is followed by an intimate showcase where guests are welcome to perform original pieces, share reflections, jokes, and stories, or simply listen and enjoy. The night concludes with another bonfire jam session, celebrating music, creativity, and nature.
