Trip to Uttarakhand
Our trip to the Kumaon region started with reaching Delhi airport where we were received by Sri Pawan with the vehicle. We had a comfortable ride to Corbett in the evening and checked in to the Infinity resort. Our stay was comfortable other than small issues on the room cleaning front. The safaris to the Corbett national park were very exciting. Though we could not have a tiger sighting (even with two safaris- our destiny), however, we enjoyed the untouched environment of the national park and also took snaps of some birds. The food at Infinity was delicious and liked by myself and my family. We met Sri Mahesh, our birding guide from Asian Adventures, at Corbett. We did some birding locally, in the morning of the 3rd day, before leaving for Pangot.

The stay at Pangot was liked most, by my family, due to its unique location, views, and environment. Mahesh was very hardworking and puts his best efforts to satisfy our ever-increasing desire of sighting new birds (not seen on my previous trip). I experienced that Mahesh, at this early age, possesses a great deal of knowledge on birds and definitely he will go up further in this field, in the future, adding many feathers to his cap. As a person, he is a very polite, honest, and helpful young boy and was liked very much by my family during the entire trip. The food served at Jungle lore lodge was homely and delicious. Birding in the area was memorable. Also, the sighting of Koklass Pheasant, after a lot of efforts by Mahesh, will be remembered by us for a pretty long time.

On 5th Dec’21, we reached Hotel Lavanya, Bhimtal, in the evening with a brief shopping in Nainital. Mr. Mithun Ghosh helped in getting proper accommodation in the hotel. We thank Mr. Mithun for the timely help, which led to a comfortable stay there. I have seen many new additions to my list of birds this time at Sattal with the persistent search by Mahesh at different locations. The hotel staffs were very cordial and helpful. On 9th Dec’21 morning, we left Bhimtal to Delhi to board our flight.

I wish to add certain observations about Sri Pawan Kumar. Apart from taking care of the vehicle & us, he has developed a keen interest in birds and possesses a good knowledge of the avian community. He spots these very accurately and lends a helping lead to the birders. A very accommodative young man, sure to grow in this field of the service sector. Since he shows potential and interest, maybe he will be a bird guide soon, who knows, in times to come.
Overall, we all thank you & Asian adventure for the very nicely planned and execution of the entire trip. We look forward to such marvelous trips with your organization, in the future.
Thanks
