05 December | Delhi to Corbett – The Journey Begins
The adventure began before sunrise. Our guests arrived in Delhi at 4:15 AM, and by the time we exited the airport, it was already 5:45 AM. Without wasting a moment, we headed straight towards Corbett National Park.
A refreshing breakfast stop at Siva Dhaba, Gajraula energized us before continuing the drive. We reached Corbett by lunchtime. After a long international journey, the guests wisely chose to rest, as the real action was set to begin the next morning with continuous safaris.
06 December | Bijrani & Jhirna – First Taste of the Jungle
Our first safari took place in the Bijrani Zone. As the gates opened at 6:30 AM, excitement filled the jeep. The jungle, however, remained quiet—no alarm calls, no sudden movements. Making the most of it, we focused on birding and recorded sightings of Great Slaty Woodpecker, Changeable Hawk-Eagle, and several common forest birds.
The evening safari in the Jhirna Zone changed the mood completely. Around 4:30 PM, we received news that a tigress had crossed the High Bank (Number 4). Following the fresh tracks, we positioned ourselves carefully—and suddenly, a tiger walked straight across in front of our jeep.
For our guests, this was their first-ever tiger sighting. The joy and excitement were beyond words. With hearts full of happiness, we returned to the hotel, sharing stories and smiles.
07 December | Jhirna & Dhela – When the Jungle Tested Us
The morning safari once again took us to the Jhirna Zone. The forest was calm, with clouds hovering above and very little bird activity. As we slowly moved through a forest trail, the silence was suddenly broken.
Out of the bushes emerged a wild elephant. For a few tense moments, the elephant assessed us—and then came a mock charge. The ground trembled, dust filled the air, and adrenaline rushed through the jeep. The driver calmly reversed, giving the elephant its space. After a few powerful steps, the elephant stopped, flapped its ears, and disappeared back into the forest.
It was a heart-pounding encounter—raw, real, and unforgettable. This moment reminded us that in the jungle, we are only visitors.
In the evening, we headed to the Dhela Zone. In the grasslands, we learned about a tiger with an injured leg moving in the area. Patience paid off once again as the tiger emerged beautifully into the open. Cameras clicked nonstop, and we enjoyed one of the best photographic sessions of the tour.
08 December | Dhela & Bijrani – Hope and Silence
The morning safari in the Dhela Zone brought news of leopard movement. Alarm calls raised our hopes, but despite waiting patiently, the leopard chose to remain hidden.
The evening safari in the Bijrani Zone was dedicated to birding, as expectations for big cats were low. Though the jungle stayed quiet, birding turned out to be rewarding and peaceful.
09 December | Garjiya & Jhirna – The Perfect Finale
The morning safari in Garjiya Zone turned magical. Fresh tiger pugmarks and spotted deer calls kept us alert. Near Baba Nala, a sambhar deer alarm confirmed what we were hoping for.
After nearly 40 minutes of patience, a tigress emerged from the grassland—and then came the surprise of a lifetime. Three cubs followed her.
We were lucky enough to witness a tigress with her three cubs together, making it the best sighting of the entire tour—and remarkably, our first sighting of the day.
The evening safari in Jhirna Zone stayed true to the pattern of the trip—once again, we enjoyed a wonderful tiger sighting. A perfect ending to a thrilling journey.
Final Thoughts
From first-time tiger sightings and cubs to a dramatic elephant mock charge, this Corbett safari had everything—thrill, beauty, patience, and pure wilderness.
It was not just a tour.
It was an adventure written by the jungle itself.
